A: Pours a slightly cloudy, rust colour with a moderate, finely bubbled white head.
S: Just a touch of lime.
T: A little grainy with a slight touch of pepper. Moderate citrus bitterness.
M: Dry and clean with a light lingering bitterness.
O: A fairly mellow take on this style. More of the rye pepper flavor would have made this a better drink, but worth a try.

650ml bottle bought at BC Liquor Store on Commercial Drive, Vancouver
I usually stay away from IPAs and I'm not a fan of rye, but with a name like this, I had to try it. This is part of a series of "Canadian Band Beer", a project involving CBC Radio 3 and various BC craft brewers. This one's inspired by the band You Say Party (formerly You Say Party! We Say Die!). From CBC Radio 3: "Available May 24, this delicious IPA offers a hearty, complex flavour and aroma that is both aggressive and well balanced, reminiscent of rye or pumpernickel bread. Brewed with a generous amount of specialty malts, including U.K. pale malt and malted rye, and rounded out with a lavish quantity of hops."
Appearance: dark amber / medium-light brown, more cloudy than clear. Two fingers of head that's slow to dissipate.
Smell: a hint of sourness, some citrus, rye bread.
Taste: bitter but less so than I expected, light malts, slightly sweet. I would hardly call it aggressive - it's not very intense. I feel like I'm waiting for something more when I taste it.
Mouthfeel: somewhat thick.
It's certainly not bad, but I wouldn't buy it again.
