Palmbräu Eppingen GmbH "Hefeweizen"
4,50€/,5L vom fass @ Palmbräu Gasse, Heidelberg, DE on 23 September 2021
Notes: Original starting gravity of 12.9˚ Plato. Brewed with light wheat and barley malts, and light and dark caramel malts.
Look: Cloudy deep gold/orange beneath a full head of white foam. Excellent head retention. Very good lacing with plenaty of spots and splashes left about the glass.
Smell: Mild with wheaty malt, cereal grains, and subtle yeasty banana esters.
Taste: Sweet wheaty malt with banana, apple, and some acidity. A low level bitterness leaves it semi-dry with a short-lingering finish.
Feel: Medium bodied and zesty with an effervescent, fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: OK but not great. Still refreshing and enjoyable.
