The Navigator is an agent of decisive action and change, and in the suit of Cones this represents, following an impulse, a passion, or embarking on an adventure. Here, the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake launches itself boldly toward its goal, amidst the Sage and Ponderosa Pine of the Shrub-steppe. These plants represent the casting off of old ways, and This Card calls you to pivot-hard-toward the new. THIS BEER features a pronounced bite of bitterness with notes of bright citrus and resinous pine.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a fine, four finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and piney hops, lemon, grapefruit and a hint of stone fruit. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and piney hops, lemon, grapefruit, pine, green melon and slight dankness. Modest bitterness at first, but builds a bit in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Reminiscent of the earlier Two of Cones, also a West Coast style IPA, with crisper malt and a similar hop profile dominated by citrus with some pine and light dankness; solid West Coast profile. The lovely striking rattlesnake graphics on the can got my hopes up for a little more hop bite from this one, but as expected from guys associated with Single Hill, a solid and enjoyable IPA.

Too bad it's only going to be brewed once! Meets all the criteria of a great West Coast IPA. The can says "brewed by Dalliance Beer Project" though the brewer is Single Hill.
