a solid example of the style, easy drinking as these go, on the dry side, with some cocoa character, almost brown ale chocolate aspects to it, leathery and layered without being too dark, nice lagering on this too, and overall the quality is there, even if it wasnt one of the standouts from our visit here, its good anyway. short off white head on top of chestnut to light brown body, soft carbonation, slow fade, looks right. nose of old world munich type malts, bready and deep, raisin but not sweet, cola, cocoa, wintery to me, fairly clean, and the flavor follows. nutty in the right way up front, a fruit leather intensity, familiar old world lager yeast thats subtle but important in here, i dont quite get smoke but its got a little something like that in here, definite dark bread, late brown sugar with the yeast, light linger but clean overall. relaxed carbonation, lighter body for its color, and on the whole both drinkable and good, not genre defining, but it gets the job done. we had a blast in here with chill vibes, great selection, and very personal service. will be back!
