#1782 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Solid rich gold with a tiny bit of haze in the pour (it's bottle conditioned, there is sediment left in the bottle). Poured with a 3cm ultra-fine bubble creamy looking head. That has survived wonderfully despite being interupted by a 10mins phone-call before I get to have my first sip.
S- It smells quite robust, hard to divine much else for me.
T- Ooph, notably bright dry hops on the front; well it is an IPA. Yep, for me it is majorly dominated by big bold dry hops. There is a perfumey note there too but I'm unsure from what, hops too?
F- Very hoppy-dry. It's a solid ABV% but I get no direct sense of that.
O- I can tell it has some malty body, but again, last time, hops override all else hear for me. - This is one for full-on hop fans. I can finish it but I'm not enjoying it.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed!
330ml bottle BB: 07/07/2022 £3.58 Bought from BeersOfEurope/King's Lynn as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Nice cloudy beer, nice fluffy head. In the nose bread, peach and hops, hint of orange. Those aromas return when you taste it, the hops are slightly grassy. Not as dry as you would expect.
Overall a typical Belgian take on IPA's, which is a good thing. The bitterness is there but it is balanced out with some fruitiness. Overall a rather good beer.

I had this beer when I was in Ghent. Its basically a true hybrid of a nice Belgian-style ale and an American style IPA. It has those nice funky malty flavors from Belgian yeast and grains but with the sharp bitterness of American hops. They're not the first in Belgium to do this but I think that there one the more successful as they let both styles ring through. Probably the other notable (and more popular) fusion of these two styles is the Zinnbir by Brasserie De La Senne. That beer however lets itself get two overpowered by hops and tastes more like your standard IPA.
