I have been to Remlinger Farms many times for outings and company picnics, but they’ve only had a brewery for a bit under two years. It’s mostly a huge venue for picnics, outdoor music, kids’ activites, and rustic goods like jams and jellies. But now there’s a brewery too, situated in their cafeteria / food court kind of area.
Admittedly the vibe is kind of weird, with big family tables but a definite school lunch room kinda feel. However, there is a bar to sit at, which is nice. They had a dedicated person for the bar when I was there, and she was friendly and attentive.
When I was there, they had 15 of their own beers on, plus a few ciders (they also had some cocktails available). Styles included several IPAs (including a Belgian-style IPA), Scottish ale, stout, blackberry saison, Australian sparkling ale, pale ale, wheat beer, guava gose, Vienna lager, light American lager, and Kölsch. All in all not a bad selection! I had a flight and I was actually quite impressed with the quality of the beers — it definitely surpassed my expectations; my favorite was probably the Cowboy Kölsch — clean, refreshing, and very well done to-style.
I can for sure see myself heading back to Remlinger some sunny summer day when I find myself again in Carnation.
