Pint pour on draught at the brewery. Served in a tulip glass. Its color is a pretty cranberry-magenta and it sports almost a finger of foamy, ecru-colored head and lots of lacing that lasted through the pour. The nose took awhile to develop but provided notes of toffee, caramel, and nuts, along with a whiff of tobacco smoke. Its taste includes roasted malt and burnt nuts balanced by caramel and a hint of toffee. There is solid, malty bitterness throughout. It boasts a pleasant, full body with appropriate carbonation, and it is very drinkable at 5.2% ABV. Overall, Tilly Tilly (which I understand is named for a dog) is a very solid ESB. I enjoyed. it.
