Pale yellow white head with great retention smells of hay and grass. Flavors follow the smell. A touch hoppy. Feel is very crispy. Exactly what to look for in the style.

Great pilsner, always tastes clean. Had 16 ounce cans.

16 oz can with the inscription: "BREWER'S CUT 2/3/21 BEST IN GLASS."
Pale gold in color with a slight haze. Large fluffy white head with great retention.
From the first whiff of the aroma, you can tell the hops are decidedly American. Big citrus aroma, mostly orange and lemon, with strong grassy notes as well.
Flavor is more of the same, with a very bitter finish. Dry and clean. Medium-light bodied, lively carbonation.
No doubt this is a well-executed beer, it's just not what I look for when I'm craving a pilsner. The hops play a prominent role, which I'm fine with, but I enjoy the noble variety more than the American ones in a pils.

Crisp and light golden pour. Medium intensity pilsner bite appears and then disappears quickly. Extremely thin-bodied. Little to no finish. While it's there, the flavor is lemon and grass--pleasant. Too bad it doesn't last. Odd too that a pilsner positioned as European-style is dry-hopped which is decidedly American. Doubly disappointing that the dry-hop process adds little to nothing to the flavor and finish.

Tonewood Brewing "Brewers Cut"
12 oz can, coded "NETFLIX & PILZ? BREWERS CUT 12/6/18"
$1.99 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ
So I've already written a review for this beer some months back when the beer was fresher but I've misplaced it. Basically it said that this is an amped up Pilsner that's quite nice, but that it's not absolutely fantastic. So, until I find my longer, more concise, and probably highly interesting and perhaps even funny review (I'm kidding) I'll just throw in this basic speed-review...
Look: Very hazy golden body - not good for a Pilsner but often accepted these days. Kellerpils? Short bright white head. Very good head retention and excellent lacing.
Smell: Lightly sweetish and grassy Pilsner malt topped by brightly floral, spicy, and lightly piney hops.
Taste: As the aroma suggests it will be with added notes of grassiness and a hint of lemon. A very firm bitterness runs straight through it, eventually bringing it to a dry finish. Grassy, lemony, floral, spicy, and just subtly herbal hops linger. More German than Czech by a mile; and more north German than southern German.
Feel: Medium to medium-light in body and quite crisp.
Overall: Except for the haziness it's an excellent, bright and hoppy Pilsner-style beer done in the German tradition. I'll give them a pass on the haze though as unfiltered seems to be the way to go these days.
