Brewed with a simplistic grain bill of strictly base malts. Hopped in the whirlpool with Mosaic and fermented with house yeast. Then dry hopped with Yakima Chief experimental hop HBC 638.

It was presented in a nearly filled clear pint glass after being drawn from a tap. It's close to the color of grapefruit juice, only denser and a little darker. There's not much off-white head, but that's the way we pour draft beers in Philadelphia. Maybe it's the eyes telling the nose so, but it sort of smells like grapefruit juice, too. There's certainly a strong citrus reference. That's sort of the taste, as well. Unfortunately, that's just about all there is to taste. Likely, a significant ratio of wheat is part of the grain bill of base malts. There's very little else to taste than the hops and they are mild. A rather thin mouthfeel also makes wheat a likely suspect. At least it doesn't have an annoying wheat beer aftertaste that's unappealing to a lover of traditional IPAs. Yakima Chief hops often can make beers tasty, but not this one. There's not much to recommend here. The finish is wet and bland, rather than dry and tasty. Maybe as the first beer on a hot day, but even that's unlikely.
