Surprisingly good for something assumed to be a contrived, sweetened and flavored beer. Well done for what it actually is, which is a Kolsch with some pineapple flavor.

12 ounce can into willi becher glass, canned on 4/10/2024. Pours fairly crystal clear golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense and rock white head with fantastic retention that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Great spotty soapy lacing on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big authentic pineapple juice/flesh, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and light peppercorn/pine. Taste follows with authentic pineapple juice/flesh, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and light peppercorn/pine. Light pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitter finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and crisp/clean/refreshing finish. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hop mouthfeel. Lingering bitter hop oil dryness with no astringency. Very flavorful for the ABV. Big on authentic pineapple flavors, balanced with a spot on base Kolsch. Perfectly clean lagering, with minimal yeasty notes.

Found at Aldi yesterday. Marked down from $7.99 to $4.99. I've tried a few Aldi brews in the past, and found them drinkable, but nothing to write home about. I find this one slightly better. When I noticed that the box said it was brewed in Rochester, NY, I figured it was contract brewed by Genesee. I was correct. I do enjoy the Genny Pineapple Kolsch from time to time, so was hoping this was the same recipe. Well, it's not, but is completely acceptable, especially at 5 bucks a sixer. Nice smell as soon as you pop the tab, and the taste is not overly fruity. Had a couple ice cold cans sitting by the fire on a hot NY night, and they went down nicely. A brew that I wouldn't go out of my way to buy, but I was at Aldi anyway, and this was a nice find. If the price holds the next time I'm there, I would pick this up again.

Pours a light caramel color with minimal head, and smells like a bowl of sliced citrus fruit. A great aroma for those who enjoy tropical fruits. Taste has a slight wheat flavor, with notes of pineapple and possibly guava. The feel is missing something, and the flavor quickly dissipates, leaving a nearly flat flavor. Overall, it's a drinkable beer for tropical enthusiasts, perhaps not top-shelf, but it won't leave you disappointed if you're looking for something quick.

Nice! I broke a simple rule, which I will restate: never buy beer at Aldi's. I figured..., yeah, you figured, you broke a rule, now pay the penalty.
It pours like a slightly dirty Kolsch or white ale or whatever it is, should. The aroma is perhaps slightly overshadowed by the fruit. the delicate taste of the beer is similarly dirtied but hey this is meant to be a thirst quencher.
Not recommended. You still should not buy beer at Aldi's (except the name brand, I guess, because they do have name brands too sometimes). There is a corrallary that I figured out with only one or two, Don't buy beer at Trader Joe's either. I got what I deserved. Actually, it could have been worse. This is drinkable but I won't serve it to anyone.

Picked up a sixer at Aldi for a song: $7.99. Says Locken's Tropical Pineapple in a can. Looks refreshing for the unbearable heat. Popping the top I get nice waft of pineapple and malt. Pours into a pint with to a bright yellow with a dense foam head. Taste is pineapple up front malty pineapple in the middle and a finish of sweetness yet slight tartness from the hops. Very nice. More than I expected. Like a pina-colada beer. Very refreshing in this heat. Ice cold is the best!!!
