Brewed with inspiration from our sister restaurant, Rams Head Southernmost, this Key lime lager is the perfect storm of light-bodied, refreshing, and delectable. The subtle Key lime flavor rushes over the pallet with a nice crisp finish from the Glacier and Perle hops.

A different kind of lager (at least to me...)
I found this to be very refreshing and certainly out-of-style, but not in a bad way. The look was cloudy like an ale, but the smell was delicious and followed the advertising on the can quite well. Mouthfeel was a it over carbonated, but it did tamp down as it warmed. Though I found the taste of lime to be a bit over-the-top, it was still an enjoyable and sessionable drink to have on hand.

Coastal Brewing Co. "Cat 5 Key Lime Lager"
12 fl. oz. can coded "23079 FD 2 11:39" and sampled on 28 JAN 2024
$2.79 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a surprisingly hazy, and even chunky, golden beer. I guess that's because it's made with real key lime as well as "natural lime flavor". The head started as a short cap of white foam but that almost instantly dissipated, most likely due to the oils from the lime. What I have now is just an island in the middle and a very thin collar that doesn't even circle the glass. The aroma is nice though with clear lime coming through amidst some lightly sweetish and grainy malt. On to the taste then... it's very much as the aroma suggests it would be. The lime is clear and the malt is lightly sweet and grainy. A moderate to median bitterness balances it and it finishes mainly dry with some lime lingering. It's light-medium in body and gently crisp, and I can see how this would make a great summer beer. As it is I'm looking out my kitchen window at snow and ice and I'm still enjoying it.

From the tap, it pours a light yellow-golden color with a modest white head and leaves some lacing. The nose gets a dose of lime,, perfect for the Key West area!. The mouth gets the key lime, along with the malt - perfect for a hot summer's day in the keys!

Refreshingly unique. Easy to drink. Lime is tart and balances things out nicely. Pours a nice golden color with a thin head. Enjoying out of a can at Porky's in the Florida Keys into a chilled glass. It's about 89 here so the chill goes off quickly
Highly recommend and definitely will buy again.

$3 16 oz draft pour at Ramshead Roadhouse happy hour. Pours a clear yellow with a smallish head. Aroma and flavor feature light malts and slightly tart lime. Overall it succeeds in being exactly what it sets out to be, and is great on a hot summer day.

Nice light color and not too hazy. Small head from draft. Hints of lime, hops and malts in the aroma. Tastes very smooth with a nice blend of the lime with the malt. Moderate amount of carbonation. This is a very smooth easy drinking beer.

12 ounce can, Julian date on the top side of the can is smudged so I can only tell this was canned this year sometime. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a slightly clear gold color with about an inch and a half white head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. I like the aroma, the brew smells mostly like key lime, along with some grainy malt. Taste pretty much follows the aroma, this brew is all about the key lime with some grainy malt too. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's refreshing and easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. Overall I think it's a good summer brew, it would be pretty easy to drink quite a few of these on a hot day! Thanks to my friend Denis for this brew.
