This richly flavored, medium-bodied style of ale is beloved not only in England but also down under in Australia. This brew is named after the iconic “Southern Cross” constellation, the guiding light that led English settlers to the shores of Australia.

On draught, at Oscar’s Ale House, and the M8 taproom.
A golden amber pour with fairy high clarity and a decent head that fades into a ring of foam and some spotty/slippery lacing.
The toasted malty flavor has pleasant graininess and caramel tones, with a faint earthiness.
The hops bitterness is very enjoyable. Nicely carbonated with a little tickle as it goes down.
The semisweet caramel fades dry on the finish.
A very good ESB.

5 oz pour on tap at the brewery. Appearance is a deep mahogany/amber hue, with a large creamy head and a truly impressive amount of lacing. Just a beautiful beer. Anyhow, the aroma and flavor offer toffee, hints of coffee and cocoa, light earthy hops, and caramel malt. Full, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, one of the better ESBs I've had.
