12 oz pour
This is a "red IPA" which wasn't a classification option.
Pours very dark ruddy brown, off white film for a head.
Aroma of bright piney and zesty hops over biscuit malt.
Flavor is of rich bready malts, piney hops, and dry nutty notes.
Medium to full body, tingly carbonation.
Very enjoyable dark IPA, old school approach compared to the more modern hazy IPAs, but the added darkness brings a nice richness while keeping the beer firmly in IPA territory and not barleywine. I am a sucker for these throwback hop bombs so it gets high marks from me.
