Clear brown pour with reddish tones and mahogany notes depending on the light; opaque brown in the glass; thick, densely spongy head; khaki hued. Rock solid malt-forward nose; roasted grains with touches of roasted nuts; a little cola and brown sugar. Stunning taste; toasted grains giving notes of toffee and caramel; brown sugar; roasted nuts; muted booziness. Heavy body; thick and velvety soft; chewy; subliminal alcohol warmth.
What a marvelous English-style barleywine. It is big and beautiful with a full flavor and sumptuous roundess to the mouthfeel. Well-balanced, amazingly delicioius.
