Lajka was my favorite brewery on my recent trip to Prague. It's a small brewery-and-coffee-shop, with honestly more of a coffee shop vibe than brewery, but there's nothing wrong with that! At one point, the bartender disappeared for a while to go play piano in the next room; I sat, sipping my pilsner, reading a Czech novel, and listening to the piano, and boy it was a highlight of my trip! Despite the bartender playing piano, I never had to wait for a beer, and the guy was really interested in my thoughts on each of the beers and just in general was very pleasant to talk to.

They had 6 beers on tap on my visit, which is not too bad for a brewery in Prague: witbier, gose, pilsner, pale lager, dry stout, and IPA. Of the 4 beers I had, the IPA was the weakest (not unusual in Czechia), but still it was pretty decent. The gose was a real standout, though. I'd say on average Lajka had the best non-typically-Czech style beers I had in Prague, and their more traditional styles were very good too.

If I make it back to Prague, Lajka is #1 on my list of places to return.
