I don't see any date listed on the can.
Appearance: The body is a very cloudy orange-gold color which has a slightly dull hue. Very fuzzy shadows are visible through the glass but it would be difficult to identify objects through it. The head is extremely oversized, taking up anywhere from a third to half the glass even when carefully pouring the beer. The head is an off-white color that has a bit of a tobacco-stained yellow color to it, and it lasts a long time. It has big clumps of lacing on the glass.
Aroma: There is a light citrus aroma which is a bit like grapefruit. There is a very faint aroma of what smells like a rye bread too.
Taste: Up front there is an odd mixture of what tastes like hop bine oil and old waxy chocolate. The middle of the palate has the same flavors but it has a black pepper character too. A touch of grain flavor in the middle which is a bit like wheat flour. The flavors stay consistent from the middle of the palate to the finish and aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It is full bodied with a light bit of acidity and a touch of hop burn. It is a bit difficult to drink but only enough to make it a sipper. Hop bitterness is higher than an average New England style Double IPA but it is nice.
Overall: The can states that this is a "DOUBLE DRY HOPPED DOUBLE HAZY INDIA PALE ALE" and that it is "8.2% ALC/VOL." As a whole it's an alright attempt at a New England style Double IPA but it is still rough around the edges. It's a drinkable beer but it isn't one I am likely to buy again. I wouldn't recommend for or against it.
