Beer Zombies Brewing Co teamed up with our brothers from Greece @sevenislandbrewery for an epic collaboration.

The story goes a person could become a Vrykolakas after death due to a sacrilegious way of life, an excommunication, a burial in unconsecrated ground, or eating the meat wounded by a werewolf….. or maybe a ZOMBIE?!
•
Vrykolakas
A big, beastly Triple Hazy IPA. Hit with a powerful amount of Mosaic Lupomax, Citra Incognito, & El Dorado. Bringing with it the fruit flavors of Greece. Big bursts of peaches, Kumquat, Quince & a hint of Watermelon all wrapped up in a 10% abv package of deliciousness.

It's a super foamy effort that emptied the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. Beneath the stark white excessive foam, a dull and hazy dark apricot-amber liquid forms. Unlike many sudsy pours, the head receded rather evenly, leaving almost no glass lacing. The aroma is mostly unappealing, with harsh references of alcohol, vague hops and starches that certainly aren't majority barley malt based. The first impression is the taste is way too sweet. After that, there is something peculiar that has little to do with a proper Imperial IPA. It's fruity, without any earthy counterbalance from neither the hops, nor backbone. Worse of all, most of its fruitiness is superficially sweet and after that, nearly flavorless. No joke, but many adjunct malt liquors provide a better taste experience. Conceded, its body is better than those, but when that's all provided, this isn't worth the try. Even the lingering aftertaste is more of alcohol than any hop or starch. Unless you need a quick jolt of a pint with an ABV of 10%, stay away.

Cloudy yellow liquid with a tall/thick/dense white head. Citrus on the nose.
Way sweeter than I was expecting. Almost overbearing. Not a fan.
Got a good feel to it though. Quite smooth on the down take.
I know the scores are all over the place so my overall is to remind me that I need to pass this one up next time I see it.
Not my style but the label was so difficult to read I had this in the fridge for two and a half months before I finally figured out what the name of this beer is so I could do a review. None of my friend or family could figure out the name either. In fact I dropped it slightly because of that.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
