insane beer, so much so that it doesnt look or drink like beer very much at all, more like irish cream straight up, truly bizarre, but a fun little saint pattys day leftover when i was in recently, cool spot, awesome beer list, this one jumped right out at me as uncommon, dubbed an irish cream affogato stout, had to dip in! looks like chocolate milk in the glass, creamy for sure, not even black or brown, like there has to be a ton of dairy in this right? not much carbonation or head, but like, baileys isnt carbonated either. thick and luscious, really caught me off guard, immediately obvious as something weird and different here. the nose is hotly alcoholic, like hard liquor, there maybe is some actual irish cream blended into this? i get some big milk and milk chocolate character too, some vanilla, good coffee, and its quite decadent and appealing overall, if completely unrecognizable as a beer, some caramel sweetness, very desserty. the flavor is the same, it tastes like irish cream, not even with stout at all, just as is, which is delicious, strong, sweet, milky, this is all of that, the coffee part is nice, very much high baileys dosed irish coffee, i mean right on the flavor of that, maybe a little bit of dark roasted barley, but its more or less lost to the other elements in this, and this strikes me as fun, festive, and something that could bring a non beer drinker into the fold, but i also think its pretty far from a beer, and as much as i like and respect this, even admire it, i also could stand it being a bit more beery, a little too far in the other direction, and a small pour was plenty, probably would be for most people, it has the texture of boozy whole milk, which is nice i guess for a few sips, but they also do offer a full pint of this, which seems like puking pretty soon to me. neat offering, like nothing ive ever had, would love to know a little but more about how its made, like is actual irish cream just blended into a stout? seems that way. hard to even rate or assess as a beer. nice coffee profile, the sweetness is yummy, so creamy and alcoholic, and it captures exactly the profile it was shooting for, spot on. this will be a polarizing one for sure, but i came away impressed. i feel like i want to drop a shot glass of this into an actual stout and pound it...
