Doesn't feel that refined. Could be better.

Started off dinner at the Bricktown Brewery in OKC's Bricktown area with their Bricktown Brown Ale. The pretty dark mahogany beer arrived at the table in a pint glass topped by two fingers of really nice looking khaki foam which settled to a nice thin layer by half glass. Lace was fine and sticky marking each sip. Looked super! The nose is drenched in all that it toasted and malty - darkly toasted brown bread, sweet caramel creme, and hot baked molasses cookies. Flavors follow the nose with noted acidity on the sides of the tongue and a bit of cocoa in the finish. Just what I look for in a brown ale. Nice medium velvety feel with fine carbonation. Looking at the other ratings here, I see this beer may have let some folks down which I don't totally understand. It may be that a lot of drinkers are simply underwhelmed by the style. This is a very good brown ale and I won't hesitate to grab another on my next visit. If you like browns, you will probably like this one.
