From what I've seen of this brewery, they pride themselves on non filtered beer, and this beer seems to fall into their line of non filtered products.
It has a traditional appearance if light tan head (lots of it), which dissipates quickly, but leaves behind decent amounts of lacing. The body is golden amber in color, but is quite hazy almost like a dunkel weizen.
The aromas are slightly toasted breads, but with a slight lemony fragrance too.
The flavor is unique as well. It is a bit lemony, more so than biscuty; however, retains a slight sweet toasty character.
This is a bit more complex for a maerzen than I'm used too. It retains many of the qualities of the maerzen genre, but the lemon taste and fragrance is different and good. The yeasty esters were a surprise as well.
