Half liter bottle dated best by 22.06.24. Wish I could have tried their Hefe Hell before this beer, I’m sure it would be quality. This is a great yeasty Dunkel. Looks the part. Aroma is surprisingly funky and a bit wild. Like the dark malts and the yeast came together to make something special. Not the usual Hefe nose but the flavors are a bit more traditional. Spiced, yeasty, roasty, clean and drinkable. Great beer.

Fischer's Brauhaus Mössingen “Fischer’s Hefe Dunkel”
,5L brown glass bottle coded “MONDESTENS HALTBAR BIS: 25.02.22”. Sampled on 22.09.21.
€,85 @ Fischer’s Brauerei Markt, Mössingen, DE
Look: Not that dark in color, maybe deep amber headed to russet brown. Rocky head of khaki colored foam. Excellent head retention.
Smell: Mildly fruity and softly grainy.
Taste: Fairly rich malt with a grainy, bready, and lightly caramelish character. Some apple and very subtle banana punch it up, and some mildly floral and spicy hops round it out. A moderate bitterness keeps it in check while still allowing the sweetish, wheaty malt to dominate.
Feel: Medium bodied and spritz with a fine-bubbled, elevated carbonation.
Overall: Nicely done. This doesn’t stray too far from the standard Weizen whereas some can go much darker and then cover over the original wheat and yeast with dark malt notes.
