Not very dark, it pours a burnt amber color with reddish tints and a very small, quickly dissolving head. The nose is a nice blend of black licorice and German malts, though it is sweet even in the nose.
Exceedingly sweet in the mouth, it is a syrupy malt flavor with almost no hop presence. A crude cola finish rounds it out.
Not a very enjoyable beer, there are many others out there that do much better justice to the style.
