Located within the newly expanded space that Ohio Deli still operates out of--now as a part of the 4th St Collective, alongside Mike's Pizza--there is a bevy of seating that was not present last I was here for a sandwich. Coming in from the original Ohio Deli entrance, the added seating is symmetrically arranged all before turning left to enter the understated Woodshop bar space that actually gives off speakeasy vibes. The bar is adorned by bottles of aperitivo, local gin, and boutique wines, as they do curate a smart cocktail list, as well as a Wednesday wine special, both of which patrons were already handily dabbling in during our visit.

But I, like many others, am here for the wood fermented beer, so I kicked it off right with a slow pour pils they call "Mid-Talian" style due to its focus on all midwestern ingredients, but in the vein of Italian pilsner. This came with an impressively fluffy but light head, as well as uniquely herbal characteristics. The old lady snagged the first sour they've poured from taps in this new venture, aged in sauternes barrels for 18 months, which itself exhibited very unique characteristics while pulling back on any harsh acids.

Bar service was very attentive and engaging, as they were very excited to have just begun kicking this side project off, branching out from the home base UnHitched. They were also very happy to recommend food from the other vendors in the collective, from whom we wasted no time ordering. Mike's Pizza very promptly slung us a New York style pie, which was every bit of 16 inches--featuring long slices that required folding--and tasted as authentic as you could ask for. Even better, they paired perfectly with Woodshop's beers.

As of now, Woodshop is bolstering the rest of their taplist with UnHitched's clean brews, but this was a very promising first visit in what will undoubtedly be an inspiring brewery addition to the local rotation.
