Notes from phone. Growler poured 5/28/15.

Light clear amber. Thick frothy off white head; good retention w/ thick sticky lacing.

Aroma shows definite evidence of spruce tips. Almost hop-like pine and resin. Fruity, blueberry-like aroma combines with the grains and reminds me of some type of kids cereal (though don't ask me the name, as I haven't had it in about twenty years).

The relatively complex spruce flavors combine with a light hint of caramel malts. Big, berry flavors, a slight cola taste, and a slightly sweet maltiness could make this cloying if it wasn't balanced rather nicely by the resiny and mildly bitter finish.

Fairly light mouthfeel with high carbonation. Crisp and sharp.

Overall, this is a pretty good beer. I like spruce but it can be tricky to use. Pearl Street did well with this one.
