I visited Factory Street Brewing while exploring southern Virginia a couple months back. They’re located in a neat old brick building with old wood floors and big timbers holding up the high ceiling. Evidently this used to be a tobacco prizery, and thus a factory of sorts! It’s a neat historic space wtih old photos and advertisements from the tobacco industry; even the bar is inlaid with tobacco leaves. They also have a nice outdoor area.
There were 8 beers on tap when I visited, plus a hard seltzer. Styles included a bourbon vanilla imperial porter, English brown, IPA, amber, Belgian dubbel, a “lawnmower ale”, and two Kölsches, one with coconut. I wasn’t too impressed with the IPA, but the other beers I tried were decent enough, if unspectacular. Service was really good, I chatted with the staff for a while since the place was practically empty.
