Pours gem clear with occasional columns of carbonation (SRM 5). A short-lived, white foam reaches 1.5 inches before falling to a blanket, leaving no lace on a Pretentious Glass Company American Lager pilsner glass.
The aroma opens with grain, light corn, and faint barley. It is generally dusty, with light notes of watercress.
The flavor starts sweet before giving way to mildly astringent bitterness. Cooked corn is the primary attribute. The finish is long, astringent, and soapy.
It has a medium body and the texture of starched cotton. Alcohol is about as expected, and the carbonation is fizzy.
This is a decent no-frills beer, although the astringency and finish hold it back. I suspect it would be better with tortilla chips and nacho cheese rather than on its own. I enjoyed this on a bright and sunny summer afternoon.

On tap at the source.
Mostly clear light gold color with a thin bubbly white head that slowly recedes. Bready light toasty grain with an earthy spicy hop to counter. Pretty nice lager.
