This beer pours pitch black. The head is 2 finger tan colored. There's a mix of bigger bubbles and smaller ones. The retention is decent, however, there's minimal lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
There's a bit of a malt here, along with a slight roasted malt aroma. If I remember when I go next, I'll ask if the malts for this beer are roasted. There's some chocolate in here as well.
Taste - Sweetness right away that turns dry quickly. There's a hint of chocolate, and a slight creamy flavor.
This beer feels soft as hell, but this is because the water there is super soft. I do get a creamy feel, but it's also very light.
I like this beer. Damn good.

Pours dark mahogany brown and appears black in the glass. Speckled halo of frothy lace all around the edges and a pretty good skim across the surface. 3.75
Aroma is mild but slightly roasty. 3.75
Taste is odd, slightly astringent. Roast malt, dry with some traces of coffee and berry. 3
Feels too thin, just watery and lacks carbonation. 2.5
Overall this seems like it's starting to go off already, it was on a singles rack on a warm shelf, which could be a problem as i'm fairly sure all the Valkyrie stuff is unpasteurized and their site says it was released in March. 3.5
