Experienced as part of a flight, followed with a pint, at the brewery in Damascus, MD. Arrived with a proud cap atop brown brew with reddish tint.
In collab with next-door-neighbor 61 Vineyard, this is a barrel aged chocolate cherry porter, rested for 4 months in 61 Vineyards cabernet franc barrels.
Aroma of a hybrid beer/wine. Malt/grape.
Taste is dark and malty porter with flavors of cherry cordial and right fine toasty oak finish.
Mouth is a tad thin, medium carbonation.
Overall, a dang fine tasting beer that displays creative brewing and barreling. Would love to see an Imperial version.
