This is a nice beer and if I hadn't already discovered Inselhopf (Hausbrauerei Feierling)
I would probably be quite excited about it. However it lacks the complexity of flavours of its rival. It still is a very nice unfiltered pils though perhaps it lacks hoppiness of a traditional pils and is closer in style to a Marzen.
A. Yellow opaque beer with a nice head.
T. Soft Pilsner style beer which is subtle but by no means bland. Nice hop and biscuity aftertaste.
S. Nice but no grassy smell that you might associate with a true Pilsner.
Worth drinking if you see it and worth stopping by if you are in Freiburg.

0.3 Litre, in a tall glass in the BrewPub on 11th Sep 2013.

Pale golden and cloudy with a full white head.

Almost odourless, with mild hints of yeast and citrus notes.

Refreshing, but bland, yeasty feel to the whole tasting with a dry finish: a typical German BrewPub pils with nothing to make me want another.

The first experience of this beer was when I poured it into the glass was the light beigh foam that dissapated quickly. The color was of a light honey. Mouthfeel - light and flavorful. Taste - light wheaty and hoppy with a light and friuty aroma. This would be Belgium's answer to American mainstream ales.

The dense and beautiful head faded quickly into a thin collar on a surprising almost white body. The smell and the taste I found very nicely fruity with a nice and refreshing emphasis on lemons. It has some similarities with the Inselhopf brewed by the other brewpub in town, Feierling, but the lemon aspect is definitely more pronounced here. The hops’ presence is quite subdued for a Pilsener, and I appreciated than, not being a fan of the overly dry and hoppy beers of the style. Mouthfeel was rather round and enjoyable. One of the most drinkable pilseners I’ve had (although the sweet aspect might be boring after a few pints).
