Appearance: Quite hazy medium brown in color, with a small white head, which soon collapses to a ring of foam about the glass wall, and scatterings of foam on the surface.
Aroma: Pronounced dark caramel vies with equally robust citric hops. The hops have a juicy quality somewhat like grapefruit juice.
Taste: The taste begins with toasted caramel and pronounced grapefruit and lesser pine hops. As the taste progresses, the hops assume a grapefruit juice character, with a hint of sweetness. Late in the taste, there is a bit of pine tar bitterness to bring the taste to a close.
Mouth feel: Very soft and full, pleasant.
Drinkability/Notes: Really quite nice, a better than typical example of the style. Purchased at my local Aldi's.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

My bro in law brought a six of this over for TG. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had pine and touch of citrus. The taste is nicely balanced and easy to drink. There was pine and some citrus. The Mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a good beer.

I also picked this up at Aldi. Great buy, can't add anything to what was already said.

I, like the other reviewer, bought it at Aldi as one of their 'special buys'. For those in areas sans Aldi, it's a small grocery store - Aldi is a German company who also owns Trader Joe's. Their buyers pick up special deals from local, smaller, independent companies, and you can get some great deals on gourmet cheeses, meats, alcohol, etc. I decided to try this one because I saw it was brewed in one of my beer Nirvanas - Washington. I typically drink IPAs. I didn't expect much, as I usually don't care for Aldi's beer selections. It was love at first creamy, high-beer head sight. As for taste, it got the beer bud endorphins going full throttle! It's a nice relaxing break from heavy hop IPAs!

Picked this up at the local Aldi. A pale ale from the west coat, let's give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a nice waft of piney notes and some citrus. Pours into my SAPP to a bright cloudy yellow with an off white three finger head. On the taste this brew has a big hop bite in the front end then sweetens up and finishes with a twangy sweet and sour bite. A good drinker, a bargain on the price point at Aldi. I will be buying more.
