Picked this up at Aldi's for $6.99. For a porter? YESSSSSSSSS . Can not be wrong. Nice syrupy mouthfeel. Great bitterness and sweetness. An excellent brew overall. This is a delicious beer with notes of chocolate and molasses. A Keeper!!!!

Picked up at Adli's...Since I can't find Porters in the Southland at at a reasonable price, I picked this up for about 7.99...it's a Plain Porter with NOTHING added..( mint, herbs etc) I Love a Plain Porter..This Beer almost does that..Good Color, Smells a little weak in the Coffee/ Caramel and seems just a tab tuned down and not as heavy as a True Porter..But Still Good for the Price..Picking some more up this weekend..Price does it for me..Cheers Everyone

Found at Aldis, my store runs out of the non-stock stuff quickly. Lucky to find one. Good porter, hint of char, nice deep notes. Nothing over done, good solid porter, great for the price.

My curse is I recognize a great beer the 1st time it hits my lips. This one is a keeper. Head is to be emulated. Rich dark roasty malt with a lingering finish that calls for more. I'll be at Aldi's tomorrow for multiple 6 packs. If Crane is making this beer Great Job! If someone else, he's left the brand in quality hands.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a black color with red tint. the head is a medium off-white size and color. The taste is mild malt. The aroma is almost non existent.

Tasted in a Spiegelau stout glass from a 12 oz bottle on December 14, 2016. This is a nice smooth porter for the price. I would recommend dark beer connoisseurs give it a try.

Bought at my local ALDI's grocery store for $7.99 6-pack, so here we go. Pours a very deep dark color with a thin frothy tan head. Smells like your typical porter. Initial taste is surprisingly good and mild with a mild coffee, deep roasted malt after taste. Very drinkable. Overall, a homerun for the price.

Appearance: Opaque, deep brown body, crowned by a modest, dense tan head, which retains well. Belgian-style lacing adorns the glass walls.

Aroma: Burnt caramel and dark roasted malts, along with some fairly prominent herbal hops dominate the aroma.

Taste: Opens with burnt malt, cold coffee, and dark caramel, soon followed by earthy, medicinal hops. As the taste progresses, the burnt caramel and earthy hops dominate. There is a little bitter cocoa later in the taste. Finishes with a lingering earthy hop flavor.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, full, very pleasant, with just a little sharp carbonation.

Drinkability/Notes: Really quite nice. Purchased at my local Aldi's.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
