Looking back at my notes, thinking about this beer reminds me of hanging out at the Fish Bowl bar, reading some James Tate, and tasting the best seafood in Olympia.
Overall, nothing spectacular about this beer. Would I drink it again? Sure. Would I just was well try something else? Same answer.
Either way, a good beer from a great organic brewery.

Served in a nonic pint at the brewpub, Trout Stout is a dark blackish brown with small, light tan skim leaving light lace.
Smell is big caramel, with light roast.
Taste is more roasty, not sweet at all really, and rather full.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, viscous.
Drinkability is not to bad, maybe to much caramel malt or something...eh, avg.

Poured a deep, deep brown with some red perhaps and a small tan head.Nose was roasty, cocoa and earthy. Taste had roasted malt with coffee with a dry finish to it but it left mee wanting more. Much better on draft. Never disappointed with a Fish brew. This was a pretty good stout overall.
