2016 German Beer Advent calendar selection.

Has the look down pat..the amber orange color with the nice white head.

Might be the richest weizen aroma I have sampled yet. Beautiful banana, cloves, and a hint of pepper.
Slightly citrusy wheat malt at first taste then followed by a lovely wave of banana, bubblegum, and slight clove spice.
Found the feel to be a tad watery

Very very good beer.

A: Hazy dirty-straw with an off-white head. Some retention & lacing.

S: Earthy cloves, banana, bread & hints of citrus & grass.

T: Very nice earthy clove & banana flavour, biscuity malt and lemon zest. Hefe's don't always survive bottling, but this one's great!

M: Moderate body is smooth, nicely carbonated (low-side of moderate).

D: Very drinkable.

Thanks for the LIF Mattt!

A - Beautiful, solid cap of white foam sits on top of a hazy yellow-orange body. The colour is darker than most hefeweizens I've come across, but it looks fantastic. Great head retention, decent lacing, but not outstanding.

S - nice balance of clove and banana, with an accompanying herbal, lemon-freshness.

T - clove is the first taste to hit my tongue, then the banana brings balance. There is an underlying soft tartness as well. The finish is not bitter, but there is a prominent herbal-clove presence. The overall effect is incredibly satisfying.

M - the overall body has a creamy lusciousness to it, but at the same time light and refreshing. Carbonation is sturdy, but one hardly notices, as the overall presence is soft.

D - tastes as good as any other authentic weizen I've come across. Excellent!

There is really something to be said for fresh, authentic product. I find it fascinating that there are still unknown breweries like this in Germany brewing up exceptional, traditional beers. This beer is put together so well, everything is in balance. This one along with their Pilsener are going to haunt me for some time to come.

Thanks to Mattt for sharing his stash with me!

Pours a hefty orangish yellow, its hazy as a hefe should be. Head is a enormous, thick and white. Soft aroma of wheat malt, spice and citrus. A rather pronounced wheat malt flavor, spicy and hoppy as well.

The brewery is worth a visit as well... its a 3 person opperation running a brewery that was built in 1889.
