This Schwarzbier or Black beer is a nod to Braunschweiger Mumme. It is a smooth lager with notes of roasted coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. Despite its appearance, it is light bodied and smooth.

L: SRM 38 pours a very yeasty dark brown color with a dark oak wood base color, light carbo, a 1/4" slightly creamy light beige head that recedes to flat froth, light random lacing with a trace of banding lines.
S: Dark toasted caramelized malts, cocoa, a hint of dark fruits.
T: Taste follows aroma with distant char, a very light metallic taste, a light blend of chocolates, red grape skin, a light floral note, yeast.
F: Smooth medium-light bodied feel with a medium-short fairly dry finish. It has a touch of graininess to it.
O: Very tasty with a light touch. Elegant drinking and subtly boasts toasted malts, cocoa, and a light fruit zing. Very simple, good price, date stamped cans. It is very good in its style.
