Copenhagen 9/5 2019. 33 cl bottle from Rewe, Sandstrasse, Lübeck. Simple white label with Black writing and a small Drawing of a citrus, a hop cone and a weird fruit. No mention of the Rheinheitsgebot.
Pours unclear golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam. Crawling up the side of the glass. Moderate Lacing.
Aroma is subdued, citric with a sweet malt-base. Citrus, lime with sweetish malts rummaging in the background. Lemonade-ish.
Light carbonation. Thin, watery, lightly prickly texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a slightly more moderate sour bitterness. Aftertaste is thin and sweetish. Lingers shortly.
Nice citric touch - but a bit too thin and watery.

Bottle. Clear Gold with lasting head and lace. Lemon pie aroma. Sweet grainy and very lemony. Like a lemon candy. Lemon rind bitterness and then come cloying sweetness. Light lively body. Unpleasant.

Pours a slightly cloudy, pale golden, straw coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of doughy, biscuity malt and bright citrus hops, with some grassy, herbal accents as well. Taste is a good balance of dough, biscuity malt and distinct, slightly zesty citrus notes of grapefruit and lime peel, with some grassy and slightly herbal accents developing towards the finish. Finishes with a light bitterness and some citrus and herbal accents lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation.
This is labeled a Helles, but when you take a Lager and dry-hop it with American hops it basically turns into an IPL and this is exactly what this is, having little in common with a traditional Helles. That's basically the point here, I guess, so no harm, no foul and this actually pulls it off well enough, with some light malts and a big hop dominace of citrus hops, as well as lighter grassy, herbal accents. It's a perfectly enjoyable, rather refreshing brew, but perhaps a little light-bodied and one-dimensional.

330ml bottle.
L: Gold colour with plenty of suspended yeast and many streams of microbbubles. Head is big and fluffy and long-lasting. Lacing is dense and plentiful.
S: Lemony but indistinct.
T: Citrus & herbal flavours become cloying over time. There's a lack of sharpness or bitterness to offset the heavy, hoppy flavour profile.
F: Smooth, rich mouthfeel with a dry finish.
O: Interesting brew. Heaps of flavour but short on refreshment .

Pours a lighter golden color with a stable, big head.
Smell is of grass, dried herbs, toffee and a note of citrus zest.
Has a light body to it, with a perfectly refreshing, high carbonation.
Tastes of white bread rind, an aqueous note and noble hops. Turns maltier after this initial impression with a prominent cake sweetness, accompanying dried straw. Finishes rather one dimensional with the hops faded out, relying solely on sweeter malts.
This is far away from being a really good Helles, given the beer‘s poor balance.

From the almost expired bottle, it pours a hazy light amber with a small head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing as you enjoy it. Citrus scent in the nose. In the mouth, it is citrus and a bit of malt. Nice!
