We went to this Pinta, a branch of the Kazakhstan Pinta brewpub/bar chain which has branches throughout the country. This one is nice, with an attractive and comfortable indoor dining area and bar, plus extensive and partly covered outdoor dining on the upstairs terrace overlooking the grounds with a view of this iconic hotel, nearby Abay Square, and Kok Tobe mountain.

This pub, as is the case with the others we went to, has the Pinta line of beers (I am not sure if they actually brew them themselves or if they are contract brewed by Line Brew, a "big craft" brewer in Kazakhstan, since I found indications that it could be either and never got a clear answer. However, the beers they have are under their own name. They also had a Line Brew lager, plus a bunch of imports from Europe and Russia, all very similar standard pale lagers (except they may have had Guinness Draft, which seems to be the most common non-pale lager in this region). Their own line included a decent red ale and a "porter" which is actually like a dunkel. The quality is decent, range is fairly limited.

Service was mixed, from very good and friendly to surly - we went several times whilst staying at the hotel.

Food we had was good, a Russian and Kazakh take on pub food and overall was enjoyable. Sandwiches, steaks, burgers, plus some very Russian and Kazakh dishes.
