Rzhanoe “rye”dark beer (rye just the name; according to owner, no actual rye in it). On tap. Brownish copper. Slightly hazy. Small off white head thins to ring. Aroma wet dark bread and caramel. Taste lightly sweet with light spicy bitterness. Generally a caramelised bread character with lingering caramel element. Otherwise hard to describe. Body is light. Feel lively. Overall enjoyable and offering a choice that’s a bit different from the ubiquitous pale lagers (which I do enjoy, but I also like variety) and more characterful than the typical beer.
