Appearnace:
Crystal clear dark copper with little to no head. Served ice cold, with ice floating in beer.
Smell:
Hints of whiskey and intense malts.
Taste/Mouthfeel:
Caramel malts, slightly sweet with faint hint of cascade hops at the end. Similar to Saranac Caramel Porter, but with more flavor and character.

I don't know how fresh these beers are, since there is not a huge turnaround. Anyway this was the winter seasonal and they still had it mid-April. It was unusual, the most distinctive beer they had, a dark spice ale. But unsatisfying for me. Too much like soda pop, thin mouth for the style, a muddled flavor like cola. Definitely not bad, but not so good either.
