Bottle. Amber with thin wispy head..
Light citrus hop and tea aroma.
The taste expands the smell with the hops becoming green. Soft caramel is present. Mild diacetyl.
Soft carbonation.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2018. Picked up recently from ALDI. The label states that this ale is 'quadruple-hopped' with three bittering varieties and Motueka for aroma.

A: Poured into a tulip. A deep, clear amber colour with good carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a couple of minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of fruity ale yeast with hints of stewed hops, grainy malt, mild caramel, faint citrus and subtle earthiness. Pretty conventional; doesn't live up to expectations for an IPA.

T: Tastes of ale yeast with notes of stewed hops, leafiness, grainy malt, a hint of caramel and mild earthiness. A somewhat harsh bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and average body. Aftertaste of acrid stewed hops, leafiness, ale yeast esters and grain.

O: A decidedly lacklustre IPA. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a bland mix of ale yeast, leafy hops and grainy caramel malt. Body is OK. Hop aroma is low; it certainly doesn't live up to the claim of quadruple hopping. Falls far short of the character expected from an IPA, resulting in an average ale that doesn't stand out. No need to track it down.
