Exmoor Gold is the original "single malt" traditional ale - pale gold in colour with a malty aroma and flavour. A light sweetness is complemented by its long hoppiness resulting in a remarkable well-rounded beer.

Cask. Sparkler used. A clear golden amber with a wispy white head.
A sweet hoppy aroma. Floral and earthy. Caramel malt present.
The taste reflects the smell with the malt becoming more pronounced. Decently balanced. A light bitter finish.
Medium body and carbonation. Soft and dry.
A decent English blonde/golden ale.

Copenhagen 25/2 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Stag with huge antlers on the label.
Pours clear, golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with a sour, sharp, grainy scent. Sweet pale malts, bread and little bit of cardboard. Light fruity sweetness. oxidized apple. Sour grains.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense Wirth a medium strong sweetness followed by and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Finish is semi-dry.
Well balanced and fairly pleasant Golden Ale. A bit old fashioned and quite English.

500ml bottle from Waitrose, Bath (£1.85):
Golden amber, quite clear with a 1cm, foamy white head that's stuck to the sides a little. The nose is quite sharp & malty with biscuit notes, a faint sweetness & touches of citrus but it's light. The taste is fairly basic too, some citrus & hay, semisweet malts & a few bread malts. Definitely a basic one but drinkable, it's medium bodied balanced without too much going on really. It feels fairly clean, definitely light & not much memorable about it but it's not bad either, a standard English golden ale really.

L- Well it's certainly golden. Like 'lager' just with a deeper/richer/warmer shade of gold than usual. Clear, pours with 3mm white head.
S- Mild, just some bready grains for me.
T- Decent enough, good roasty grains/malts into balancing hoppy finish.
F- It's pretty refreshing, with a bright feel on the palate. 'Old school' bright in a trad sense, rather than any youthful citrus hop-bomb. The lable talks of 'vanilla and citric hops' - fortunately I sense neither.
O- A well pull together beer, eminently sessionable. Nothing to note out of place/balance - flip-side - nothing really special with it to set your world on fire either.

From cask. Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has generic malts with some earthy hops. Taste has clean malt, grains, a hint of honey and a light earthy bitterness on the finish. Light to medium body, no carbonation.

Fresh tasting with more carbonation than most. Clean and hoppy. Nice session beer even though a tad too high in alcohol. Refreshing with citrus hints. Perfect sitting in a garden on a hot summer's night

On cask at Heathrow. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grains and light grass notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little sweetness, but yet crisp and clean.
