Copenhagen 21/12 2020. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Black panther with claws and fangs and a big red tongue on the label.
Pours clear but very dark brown with a red hue. Midsized, creamy off-white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is moderately intense with a sweet, slightly candy-like, malty odor mingling with a light earthy scent. Caramel, toffee. Hints of saltwater and peat.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a light saltiness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a notable bitter undercurrent. Finish is semi-dry.
Nice one with a fine balance between the sweet maltiness and the bitter and salty. But the label is overselling it a bit with a threatening and growling carnivore.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£3.39):
Very dark ruby to murky brown with a foamy, 2cm head that's thick & holds well. The nose is quite malty with dark fruits, raisin & faint cherry; it has a nutty base with some bread malts as well. The taste is similarly malty, lots of bread & light caramel with raisin, prunes & a light earthy bitterness but nothing really dominates & it seems pretty average throughout. It's a medium body, there's not a lot of carbonation & it's fairly smooth but very unexciting.

#1764 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Superficially almost black, though held to the light it is ultra-deep ruby brown. Pours clear with an impressive 1Cm creamy fine-bubble mid-tan head.
S- Quite mild, just some malts and perhaps a hint of a piquant element.
T- Boof - it's way gutsier than it's smell^. Quite bold hops and notably solid dark malts underneath. It leaves a deeply toasty/malty + mild hop-zing on the palate. - I'll note it now before I forget; this beer would benefit from not being served straight from the fridge, let is warm a touch towards room temp and the flavour etc should really open up.
F- Notably dark and striking malts, balanced by decent hops.
O- It's something a bit different and I like really quite a lot. It's certainly full-flavoured. This will suit various people and situations; you want a beer that'll stand up against a solid curry... you're a heavy smoker/have a heavy cold, or otherwise have a bit of a knackered palate... you're just old school trad and want a beer with a proper presence ('like when I were a lad') that's not messing about. For all the fanged dribbling felines on the lable (which FWIW remind me on an Iron Maiden sleeve, and are heavily updated from that shown above) I expect this one would go down nicely for the locals who can walk rather than drive home from the local pub.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! 6.6%ABV... it's subtle about that.
500ml bottle BB: Fen-2022 £2.83 Bought from BeersOfEurope/King's Lynn as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains honey, caramelized malts, some fruit and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out very sweet with flavors of honey, fruit and caramel. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is mild and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, decent representation of style, it’s a solid beer but a bit overly sweet.

Dark brown color with a one finger caramel head with medium retention.
Nice aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, traditional English hops, caramels and crystalized fruits.
Very bold flavor especially considering its body. Assertive notes of roasted coffee, plums, raisins, caramels, licorice, rum, cocoa, lots of toffee and a hint of spices. Dry aftertaste with a lingering roasted note.
Light body with appropriate carbonation with an acid citrusy sensation. Alcohol of 6.66% abv is hidden in its flavors not body.
A malty and fruity porter (well, almost a Scotch Ale with low body) that can be described as an alcoholic fruit cake.

A 500ml clear glass bottle with a BB of Aug 2013. Purchased from a supermarket in Sheffield ages ago and stored in my garage. Described on the label as a mysterious dark ale containing chocolate and crystal malt.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. A deep ruby-brown hue with low carbonation. Yields a decent head of beige foam that lasts for a minute or two before disappearing. Aroma of rich, fruity malt with hints of raisins, prunes, fruitcake, caramel/toffee, vanilla, faint brown sugar and mild stewed leaves. A whiff of buttery diacetyl in the background, accompanied by a warming alcoholic twang.
Tastes of fruity malt with a lingering, semi-sweet finish. Notes of raisins, dried fruit, caramel/toffee, mild roasted grain, a twinge of vanilla, faint brown sugar and stewed leaves. A whiff of diacetyl and a touch of booze in the background. Mild and dry upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body for the style; though could be a shade more substantial. Slightly astringent, followed by an aftertaste of fruity malt and stewed leaves.
OK, but not exceptional. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are par for the course. Fruity malt and hints of dark sugar. Body is OK. A run-of-the-mill strong ale; drinkable but nothing to go out of your way for. Worth sampling if you feel so inclined.

great lacing, pours dark brown and beautiful, but with a small head
nose is not too offensive but not much there, a little cocoa malts i guess an alcohol, surprising in a beer thats only 6%
taste is subtle off dry coffee and bitter cocoa with a warm bittersweet finish
descent mouthfeel
a pretty drinkable beer, not one i would go out of my way to get a hold of, but wouldnt avoid it either - just an ok porter/off dry stout.
