On tap at Cedar City, into a pint glass.
Pours a dark mahogany with off white foam. Aroma is heavy dark malts and honey, quite rich. Flavor is appropriately mildly burnt, with some dark cocoa and dark roast coffee flavors. It's a little bitter, not very sweet, and easy to drink. I like the honey flavors in the background and faint floral hoppiness on the finish as well. Very middle of the road but well done and enjoyable. Feel is good, appropriately drinkable for how dark it is, with a long dry finish and solid nuttiness on the back end.
Another good offering from Cedar City. It seems like schwarzbier is popular in Tennessee right now, and while no one can top Barrique, I can appreciate the efforts as this is a very fresh, tasty beer.
