Tried at the CAMRA Seven Valley Railway Beerfest, Bridgnorth Shropshire 2007.
I only review the first 4 beers at a fest, as my taste buds are shot by the 5th. This was the third beer and by far the best at the fest in my eyes.
Reddy brown in colour with a weak white head, the beer was gravity poured into a half pint fest glass (handled pot).
A fruity aroma (surprise, surprise) and aftertaste are the main good points of this fine beer. Not heavy or thick, it isn't watery or thin either. The fruitiness isn't over stated, it's just there.
The beer was just about as perfect as you are going to get at a beerfest.

Presentation: One of four ever-rotating Guest Beers on sale at the Wakefield Labour Club (a.k.a. The Red Shed) during a recent trip back home to England.
Shield like Pumpclip is very colorful and has pictures of red & black blackberries all over, with the words Early Fruits in a gold text. Listed in small text at the bottom as 4.1%ABV with the words Best Bar None above.
Appearance: Amber brown body which exhibits a classic sparkling English Bitter copper body when held to the light. Off-white head was a rested tight ¼ cap when it arrived on the Bar, thanks to an excellent pull from Barnsley Andy the Shed Cellar-man; he knows his stuff that lad. Pristine looks, but nowt great nonetheless.
Nose: Hints of blackberries, but they are delicately interspersed between the malts and bitterness from the hops. Time reveals a gentle blackberry contribution, like a chilled home-made preserve it improves with warmth.
Taste: Rather feels like an archetypal English Bitter at first, I even questioned if it had any fruits at all, but the blackberries take a little time to add to the taste profile. As you work your way through the fruits slowly infuse and subtle, but graceful, blackberry fruitiness works its way into the malts and bitter hops, adding to a very satisfying fruity finish to the English Bitter.
Mouthfeel: A new Cask and one which was a little lively during the pour, but the conditioning was above average and refreshing, which helped to transmit the soft blackberry fruits across the palate.
Drinkability: Refreshing and a "good to go" Bitter that benefits from a nicely accentuated fruity finish. I wanted to try some more different brews at The Red Shed, so I moved on after the one pint, though I could have easily managed a second Pint.
Overall: I full expected this one to be a mess to be honest, whenever I see the words 'fruit' and 'beer' in the same sentence it fills me with low anticipation. But it was quite the pleasant brew all in. Listed as an English Bitter because primarily this is exactly what it is, with a (thankfully) subtle use of blackberries to add a fruity hint in the finish. Nothing special but nicely put together and rather enjoyable.
