Brown 500ml bottle, the name comes from a well known local chap who has sadly died, money from the sale of this beer goes towards a 'Bowel Cancer' charity.
The beer was best before 6th June 2010 and drank on 20th Feb 2010. Poured into my 'Old Speckled Hen' vase shaped glass.
Exceedingly pale, very lager like in appearance, huge white head on top of a golden clear and clean looking body.
The aromas given off however tell you this is an ale, hops and a fairly sweetish yeast smell fills the air from the glass.
The taste is a little on the citrus side (grapefruits and lemons) with the hops struggling to fight their way into the flavour. There is no noticable malt content from start to finish.
A pleasant if slighty thin beer, great value (£1.09 a pint bottle).
