A 500ml bottle with a BB of March 2012.
Poured into a Guinness pint glass. A golden colour with faint haze and virtually no carbonation. Fails to form a head; just a paper-thin layer of foam that lasts for seconds. Aroma has a harsh dominant note of stewed leaves along with a hint of malt and a faint whiff of vinegar/solvent. The absence of carbonation and the vinegary odour make me wonder if the seal on the bottle was broken at some point and caused the contents to oxidise slightly.
The taste is similar to the odour - harsh stewed leaf bitterness dominates. Hints of staleness and 'off' flavours, despite being well within the recommended date of consumption. A pretty vile combination. Mouthfeel has a tingly astringency followed by an unpleasant bitter aftertaste.
Foul - arguably the worst beer I've ever had. I'm sure I've said the same thing about another of this brewery's offerings, so something clearly needs to change. I'm not certain if this was an individual flawed bottle or if it's supposed to taste so bad, but I suggest giving it a wide berth. You've been warned!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
