Located 4 miles west of downtown Boston, this is on a busy road and a bit hard to find without Google. The vibe is dark with little natural light (and the interior lighting is also dim). The music is Gothic rock. This is accentuated by the near black walls and ceiling. The main dining room consists hard wood seating everywhere -- barstools and picnic benches.
There are 12 beers on tap--6 IPAs, 4 lagers, and 2 sours. Widowmaker is known for their IPAs, so this makes sense although I did rate one of the lagers very highly. There is no other alcohol (or softer drinks) offered. There are about a dozen cans offered for takeaway as well as a corner dedicated to swag.
The food centers around "South Shore" pizza (a style familiar to locals as bar pizza). They also have several fried munchies and wings. The service was attentive and knowledgeable about each of the beers.
Overall, a worthwhile place to check out if you are a beer geek.
