12 oz. can that suggests drinking by 4/27/14. Poured into a short wheat glass.

The tab popped with vigor, and I poured this mahogany-colored beer into a short wheat beer shaped glass. The head was very decent, and the body itself is a clear luxurious brown color that shows off ample carbonation. The head drops down to almost nothing, but does show incredible signs of lacing.

The aroma is most impressive, but it is as expected maybe, since Two Brothers calls this their "Hoppy Dark Wheat Ale". The hops shine bright here, with an orange citrus aroma and hint of sweetness. Light berry aroma possibly? When agitated, more of the wheat aroma comes out and offers a pleasant huskiness and more hops.

Night Cat starts with a wheat and citrus hop flavor up front, with maybe only a slight suggestion of darker malts and sourdough bread. There are shortbread flavors here as well, which play well against the sweet and pleasantly bitter Citra hops. Across the palate is a full-flavored beer with a light body and creamy texture; a combination of many things...aggressive hopping, malt base lightened up by wheat, and rich carbonation. It finishes very lightly sweet, with some aftertaste of tangerine and apricot.

This is maybe only the second beer from this style that I have consumed, and I know that this is a winner between those two. Very tasty beer, easy to drink, and would pair very well with harder cheeses like Parmesan and Gouda.

12 oz can. "swirl before 03/29/14" printed on the bottom.

Pour is dark almond amber, darker and loose khaki head, stays nicely initially. The goes to a thicker film, nice low sheeting and respectable high ringed lace and lower strands.

Spicy hop nose. Fragrant, floral and citric are adjectives that come to mind.

Tasty dark n hoppy wheat ale. A style I'd love to see other brewers take a stab at. Notes here of more citric hops, some tropical fruityness and some dark wheaty malts. Moderate bite tot he hops in the finish and a nice smooth smooth finish with malts smoothing things out. Nicely done

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a dark brownish amber with a lot of rising bubbles. Big three finger off white head which settles into a patchy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell: A juicy and earthy hop forward aroma with hints of citrus, grass, biscuit, and wheat. Upfront scent of hops with juicy citrus hints of grapefruit, orange, lemon zest, and pineapple. Earthy and grassy hop hints. Wheat and toasted malt with hints of biscuit, caramel, grains, and yeast. A kind of odd but good smell.

Taste: Like it smells, a nicely juicy and earthy hop forward taste with notes of citrus, grass, and wheat malt. Juicy presence of citrus hops with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, lemon zest, and pineapple. Earthy notes of pine and grass. Wheat and toasty malt notes of caramel, biscuit, grains, and yeast. A pretty solid taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, slightly chewy, and smooth.

Overall: A pretty unique and solid twist on a wheat beer. Good juicy hops with a solid toasty malt backing.

Appearance: Foam is just ok. Lacing is just good. The color is amazing. Solid nut brown when you pour, but it vacillates between murky orange and translucent red when held up to light. Incredibly unique. The foam and lacing are the only thing preventing me from giving it the rare perfect 5.

Smell: Resiny pine. Faint citrus in the background. Very festive.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Very subtle cedar flavors and quite a bit of yeast. Fairly malty, but a little too bland for my liking. Faint lemon and orange combined with some pepper in the background. Nice medium-bodied and yeasty mouthfeel.

Overall: Flavor is lacking, but I appreciate this hybrid hoppy-wheat beer.

The night kitty pours a dark rich amber with off-white head that is leaving a nice lace. The citra hop gives a nice blend of citrus and pine on the nose and in the taste. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall.....very nice!
