The short days and long nights bring this prowling cat out on the town, looking to scatch up some fun with a great beer. This Night Cat is dark in color, bold in hop but not heavy in body. It is full of tropical fruit notes from the Citra hops that combine with a nice dark wheat malt flavor.

12 oz. can that suggests drinking by 4/27/14. Poured into a short wheat glass.
The tab popped with vigor, and I poured this mahogany-colored beer into a short wheat beer shaped glass. The head was very decent, and the body itself is a clear luxurious brown color that shows off ample carbonation. The head drops down to almost nothing, but does show incredible signs of lacing.
The aroma is most impressive, but it is as expected maybe, since Two Brothers calls this their "Hoppy Dark Wheat Ale". The hops shine bright here, with an orange citrus aroma and hint of sweetness. Light berry aroma possibly? When agitated, more of the wheat aroma comes out and offers a pleasant huskiness and more hops.
Night Cat starts with a wheat and citrus hop flavor up front, with maybe only a slight suggestion of darker malts and sourdough bread. There are shortbread flavors here as well, which play well against the sweet and pleasantly bitter Citra hops. Across the palate is a full-flavored beer with a light body and creamy texture; a combination of many things...aggressive hopping, malt base lightened up by wheat, and rich carbonation. It finishes very lightly sweet, with some aftertaste of tangerine and apricot.
This is maybe only the second beer from this style that I have consumed, and I know that this is a winner between those two. Very tasty beer, easy to drink, and would pair very well with harder cheeses like Parmesan and Gouda.

Clear brown body with a soapy off-white head that leaves an archipelago of lace. Nose is very bready, including toasted and crust, with an overtone of caramel and must. The flavor is equally focused on the bread and burnt grapes, with a bitter, chalky finish. Body is medium-full, with a surprising, but for once out-of-place, smoothness.
Missed the mark. The malts didn't provide much sweetness nor appreciable flavor, and the hops contributed only the negative aspects of bitterness. I'm still searching for a tasty example of this style.

Brilliant clear tiger-eye brown with a large cream-colored foamy head that clings.
Smell is light green pine, grass, corn, grape, toffee, and a touch of gasoline.
Taste is light and drinkable white corn, white grape, light wheat toast, and light pine with a hint of grapefruit.
Moderately sweet, watery and slick. Simply put: "Lite!"

Had on tap. Murky amber brown with a tan collar. Caramel, muted cocoa, wheat, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is a muddled version of the nose, but hops shine more in the finish, think pine and slight citrus zest. Feel is easy going, has wheat and hop elements but nothing defining.
