From tasting notes. L: Poured into a pilsner glass. A brilliant dark brown liquid supports a 3” white foam collar that produces extensive lace. S: Spicy malt aromas. T: Spicy malt flavors, a touch of cardamom, lightly sweet, some nuttiness, low hop bitterness, slight astringency on the finish. F: Medium body and carbonation. O: A well crafted easy to drink Munich dunkel.

Another from this brewery that I was only peripherally aware.
A -- Clear, dark chestnut color with a creamy, light tan head that starts strong, but finishes weak.
S -- Light malt sweetness, some odd vegetal character, and some unexpected pepperiness from alcohol.
T -- Starts off lightly sweet and blends to a hop bitterness that's a little strong. Finishes with a light roasted malt character. Aftertaste has some earthiness and peppery alcohol (beer is only 5.9 ABV, but that pepperiness is apparent). Some mild vinous character with warming.
M -- Soft mouthfeel with a medium-full body. Mild astringency from the roasted malts and alcohol.
O -- This beer is very tasty and drinkable, but once again -- closer to a Schwarzbier than a Munich Dunkel. The sweet, bready, melanoidin character is just not present. I can't say how old the beer is because there's no label dating, but I doubt the roasted character would have developed with age.

The first sip was good but as I write this and finish the bomber I'm no longer enjoying it. It seems rather blah ... no persistent, noteworthy qualities. I taste a rather ordinary amber/dark beer with a minor hop bite. I received this beer, along with several others, as a gift. I'm glad I was able to try them but as my recent reviews detail, none of them really rocked my world. The search continues!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
