Pours amber with a light head. Smell is smooth, creamy malt and no hops present. Taste is blandish malt, balanced with light grassy and mostly unflavored bittering hops. Decent, but not something I'd recommend or have again. Kind of boring. Wouldn't recommend this beer

I tried the Clark Street Ale as well as a few other locals at the Clark Street Ale House. It was served in a standard pint glass and poured light copper in color with minimal head. Some light citrus on the nose, and an easy drinking mild hoppy taste. It wasn't the best Pale Ale I've had, but it stood out as the best local beer I tried while at Clark Street.

(Served in an American pint glass)
A- This beer pours a golden copper body with a good carbonation and a light tan thin head.
S- It has a soft slightly sweet note of pale malt with some toasted malt and a faint raw grain note. There is a light green hop aroma that balances the malts.
T- This beer has a crisp pale malt and fresh grain flavor that starts to show some lightly toasted notes as it warms. There is a slight perfume note after the malt and the green hops have a real black peppery spice in the finish.
M- This beer has a medium light mouthfeel with a slight slippery texture.
D- Smooth drinking pale ale with some nice subtle notes and a very peppery hop finish. It was served to cold so I had to wait a while to really get some of the flavors to come through.

On-tap at Clark St. Ale House, Chicago, IL. 4.00/pint.
The bartender told me their house beer is brewed by Two Brothers and, as much as I've been dissapointed by that brewery, this contract-brew might be their most impressive offering. A basic pale ale and lightly tropical, it's calm with its citrus and doesn't go the way of Alpha King or Two Hearted (available on cask at the pub). This beer's only real drawback is a chalky mouthfeel that, after half a pint, can be really obnoxious. Above all, this is a session beer and a fine one at that.
Relax, relax.
