Copenhagen 9/11 2017. 35,5 cl bottle from Ørsted Vine, H.C Ørstedsvej, Frb. C. Very 1970 design label with a lot of wobble and Two Brothers' whirling logo. Some discrete hops hangs around.
Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with big white head. Settles as very thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Moderate Lacing.
Aroma is not very strong for an IPA. Some malty sweetness, exotic fruit and citrus notes. But subdued.
Low carbonation and slightly thick palate.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and citric.
A little weak in the aroma but a fair amount of bitterness in the taste. Not exceptional - but certainly not bad.

Amber color. Medium-sized, white head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Hops dominate in taste. Strong, hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. Well-balanced, solid IPA.

Poured out of bottle at Willimantic Brewing Company. The aroma and flavor of this IPA was similar with a nice hop profile and balanced well with its maltiness. Overall I would say this beer was an average IPA, and nothing to go out of your way for.

From Warrenville, Illinois to Dire Dawa, Ethiopia by way of the U.S. Embassy! I probably wouldn't still be here in this 5th World country writing this if it weren't for the support of my friend, Susanna, who was kind enough to bring back a 4-pack of this sweet Mid-Western Nectar from a recent trip she took to civilization. In 90 degree weather with no water or electricity, (I am writing this by telegraph) it is the ABV 6.3%/IBU 69 which really matters, giving me hope that 75 days from now, I too will be able to enjoy this beer's brethren underneath the cool shade of Democracy without the lie of "tomorrow".
Sharp out of the bottle, it pours with ease, minimal head giving way to Splintered Sunlight, through dead dreams to another land. It sits well in a Tulip Glass with a color that contrasts nicely again the death which surrounds me. The Smell of that Pine Forest I drove through from De Effe to Oaxaca, there is the Citrus from my home county in California, wafting in the air, piercing the dust from the heard of Donkeys that just passed.
The taste gets the highest rating, not only wetting the palate but moreover, clinging to it, holding tight to those taste buds as the liquid moves from mouth to liver to mind. Blown. Smooooove without a hint of travel from the nearly 8,000 miles it took to get here, supplanting my thoughts from "why?" to "why not?" Tasting like that "tomorrow" which unfortunately never comes in Ethiopia, I don't know the ordeal which Susanna went through to get these four bottles here, but through these words, I can assure her that it was worth it!
Overall, I would have to give due credence to this Illinois-Brewed Beer, as admittedly, my focus has been on West Coast Libations (and more recently, those from The Beltway). Shit has straight given' me hope and resurrected my thought pattern on how things will turn out here, taking my mind, body, and soul for a brief respite from the hardships which are defined by all that is Ethiopia. A nice escape on a Tuesday afternoon, I look forward to where the others too will take me, hopefully on borrowed wings, visiting the Mountains of the Moon, remaining congnizant that strategy is strength, not disaster...
